Emilcin Abduction
We've covered UFO stories from the US, France, Germany, Wales, England, Africa, and more. But one place we haven't traveled yet? Poland. In tonight's blogstonishing we're headed to Emilcin, Poland to explore one of their most famous UFO cases.
It all began May 10th, 1978 with Jan Wolski. Jan Wolski was 71 at the time of his experience. It was morning and he was driving his horse-drawn cart through the woodland on the outskirts of Emilcin. He was alone on the path, or so he thought. He soon noticed two odd figures in the distance. He was headed right toward them and decided not to divert his cart. When he got close enough to pass them, the creatures he had seen hopped right onto his cart with confidence. Now that he could see them quite well, they were about 5 feet tall, worn black clothing that covered every partof their body but their face, and the skin he could see he was perfectly green. However, they didn't seem to notice (or care) about Jan himself. As he continued to drive, they chattered to each other. Wolski did not recognize it, but descrived it as being short and fast.
Surprisingly, Jan wasn't that freaked out. And what I mean by that is, he didn't scream or try to interact with the creatures, or abaon the cart. He decided to just continue on his way. But then, somehting did change. As he exited out of the denser woodland, he saw what he described as a car hovering in the air. It was oblong, a similar size to a bus, and glowing. It also made a humming sound that he couldn't quite place, but the closer it got the "angrier" it seemed. He said it sounded like angry buzzing bees. The creatures then hopped off his cart and started walking what he assumed was their vehicle. Wolski, interestingly enough, decided to follow them. When he entered the craft he said he entered a non-descript, black room. But when he touched the walls they weren't anything like what he'd felt before, he described it as feeling as if made of exteremly strong glass. Additionally, there were several seats along the walls and what seemed to be an elevator.
Within the room, there were two more creature in the same outfits. He noticed now that they were standing in front of them that the beings' legs were slightly misshapen and almost too large for their frame. He also noticed a humpback of sorts on their backs under the suis. It was unclear if they were naturally occuring or if they are a mechanical piece. Most haunting, though, is the fact that their eyes had no whites.
According to an interview he gave in 1978, he claimed at this time he still felt no fear. He wasn't sure if it was because the beings were so non-threatening, or if they were somehow psychologically making him more comfortable. As he looked upon the room a bit more, he saw all the creatures looking at him expectantly. They motioned for him to take his clothes off...and he did. Now, this is a part that really surprises me. It's one thing to walk onto a craft and do some exploring...but another one to start obeying these strange creatures.
Once he was undressed, one of the creatures stepped forward and handed Jan two buzzing discs that Jan described as suction pad-like. The creatures continued to move these pads around all parts of his body. Jan said he never understood what they were doing, or why, and that they offered no explanations. After they finished, he finally smelled overwhelming amounts of sulphur, something that would disrupt his sense of smells for days following. Then, the investigation seemingly over, the creatures led him right ut of the door. Jan decided to bow to them in goodbye, and they returned the gesture. He walked back to his cart, his horses still waiting, and headed back home.
He could not wait to get home and tell his sons. His wife let him know they were at work in the field, and he ran towards them. He wanted to take them to the craft and the two young men set off. However, when they arribed at the scene the craft was gone. But, they did find rectangular footprints and evidence of activity. In the following years, there would be reports surfacing of a craft of similar depiction seen flying over the town.
As mentioned, this took place in May but two journalists, Krystyna Adamska and Henryk Pomorski interviewed Wolski on tape in July and got a detailed account of the experience, which is why we have such detailed information today. Then in 1978, the Jan was interviewed on Polish television which really skyrocketed the popularity of the story.
Today, there is a memorial to the encounter in Emilcin. On May 10th, many folks head to the same clearing and celebrate Jan's experience even bringing recreations of the beings with them.
